Workforce development efforts in the equipment manufacturing industry need to begin sooner rather than later. At AEM's most recent Annual Conference, a panel of experts discussed just how vital it is for industry leaders to raise awareness of all the opportunities that are available for young people in the field of manufacturing. By engaging youth and exposing them to the industry at an early age, the industry can begin to close the skills gap and address the ever-growing labor shortage. Above all else, though, manufacturers needs to attract and impress young people in order to get them to consider embarking on careers in the industry.
